Nestled in the Green Mountains of southern Vermont, our Log is in a sparsely settled community known as Snow Mountain Farms in West Wardsboro. West Wardsboro, VT is conveniently located six miles from Mt. Snow, twelve miles to Stratton Mountain. As part of the community you have access to a clubhouse which includes a heated indoor pool and outdoor tennis courts. The clubhouse is a third of a mile from the Log.

As you approach the Log, built in 1990, you will see that woods surround it on a level piece of land. Also, you will notice a full length covered front porch where our seasoned firewood is stored. Along with that is a gas barbecue grill for preparing you favorite grilled meal.

Entering the Log, into the living room area, which is furnished in country decor, you will find the centerpiece of the home the huge fireplace. The stone fireplace stands eight feet wide by 16 feet tall, reaching up to the cathedral ceiling. Conveniently incorporated with the fireplace is a stone wood box where some of the seasoned wood is stored, ready to burn. Also for your comfort and for watching the fire blaze are two overstuffed sofas.

The dining area and kitchen are fully equipped for all of your entertaining and food preparation needs. The kitchen includes a microwave, coffeemaker, toaster, Jenn-Air range. The range is nicely located in the middle of an island surrounded by four oak stools. For dining, there is a six-foot oak table overlooking the deck and the backyard.

Sleeping accommodations include two bedrooms and a loft. The master bedroom, on the main floor, includes a queen size bed, triple dresser and other furnishings. The other main floor bedroom includes a high rise bed, (two twins that convert into a queen) a dresser and other bedroom necessities. The loft is a sleeping and entertainment area. It over looks the living room and kitchen area, great view of the fireplace. The loft is furnished as a den, with a TV, VCR, DVD and a Bose CD radio. There is, however, no TV reception but videotapes are available. As for sleeping the loft has a futon that will open to a full size bed and another high rise bed as well. All of the mattresses in the Log are posturepedic for sleeping enjoyment.

Two bathrooms are incorporated into the Log. One is on the main floor adjacent to both bedrooms and the other in the loft. Both of the bathrooms are fully equipped with shower stalls.

For your safety and comfort the Log has a very dependable caretaker. The caretaker is responsible for trash removal, snow plowing and snow shoveling. The Log is equipped with an alarm system, smoke alarms, fire extinguishers, fire rescue safety ladder, and carbon monoxide detectors for safety and piece of mind.

The Green Mountains of Vermont is a great place to enjoy the outdoors in all of seasons. The activities include skiing (alpine & x-country), snow boarding, snowmobiling, snow shoeing, boating, canoeing, fishing, hiking, biking and hunting. Along with these activities you could rest and relax inside in front of a crackling fire.
